Well.. our very first guest on this blog is Jenn from Lancaster, Pennsylvania .. and she had some pictures to share with us. Jenn’s blog is : jenn.nu

Hi! I’m Jenn, and I live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania (though my hometown is Philadelphia; we moved to Lancaster when I was 13 years old. I am now 24!). Yes, Lancaster as in home of the PA Dutch aka Amish Country. I live four miles away from the famous Strasburg Railroad (www.strasburgrailroad.com), and I am surrounded by farms, fields and Amish. I share the road with the Amish and their horse-drawn buggies, and I love raising my children in the quiet countryside that is still just an hour’s drive from two major cities: Harrisburg and Philadelphia.

Horsey..!

My favorite..!! cows..!!

Horsey again.

According to Jenn .. this path is not used often. And that the preferred mode of transportation in her area is motor vehicle, and then followed by horse drawn buggy.

Train..!!
Thank you so much Jenn..!!! Yer awesome..!!

Me and the wife are from california and will be on vacation in the area at the end of september. We will probably spend one day in Lancaster. Any suggestions, anything Amish/PA dutch would be interesting. Keep in mind we are in our 50’s. Thanks

Tony,
I would definitely recommend checking out the Strasburg Railroad. In addition to 40 minute train rides, they also offer lunch and dinner rides.
Then there is Rockvale and Tanger shopping outlets, the American Music theater, and Dutch Apple dinner theater (my personal favorite).
And make sure to eat a meal at the Good ‘n Plenty; I ate there years ago and I loved it!

We are planning on spending several days at “Mussers Bed and Breakfast”, Just wondering if you have any input on the place?
